The Main Pedestrian Area (die Fussgaengerzone) between Karlsplatz and the Marienplatz is a Munich MUST SEE.
For all your needs, we recommend the department stores Hertie (oppostite the main entrance to the Main Train Station) and the Galleria Kaufhof at Marienplatz.
Looking for a bookstore, Hugendubel is the place to go, at Marienplatz, or, for books in English, go to their location near Salvatorplatz.
For photo needs or anything electronic, go to Saturn in the pedestrian area close to its Western end near Karlsplatz.
